El Chayo Cervantes hosts music and information for mid-Michigan's Spanish speaking community

In May 2008 WKAR AM 870 was honored at the City of Lansing's Diversity Day celebration for its 40-year commitment to providing music, news and information for mid-Michigan’s Spanish-speaking community on its weekly Ondas en Espanol series.

WKAR appreciates this commendation and would like to thank Tony "El Chayo" Cervantes for his dedication to producing and hosting the program since 1988.

The station also appreciates the efforts of all those who have been involved over the years in providing this valuable and lasting communication offering to our Spanish-speaking listeners.
